Wild Times

Whew, taking a few minutes to sit down at the computer. I'm feeling guilty that I haven't posted anything lately....I'm sure you all are dying to know all the latest...ha ha ha! :-)

Bridget had her first birthday party on the 20th and G&G Wollan came and Auntie Jaci too. We had a big party and Bridget got to enjoy her first cupcake which she enjoyed a lot. She got some really cool toys and really cute summer outfits so that will be great to have.

We are busy packing, packing, and more packing lately. I was off today and packed all day. Did other fun things like take pictures off the walls and patch all the holes. It doesn't look a whole lot different and I spent all day doing it. We are both taking Friday off so hopefully we get a lot of progress made that day. We are doing the big move this weekend and have friends coming to help us move all the big stuff into the apartment. As of Sunday night, we'll be sleeping over there so that'll be really strange.

I took all the stuff in the girls' room apart today and it felt strange. I remember putting that stuff up when I was pregnant with each of them and preparing their rooms. The house is definitely starting to look more empty and less of our house anymore.

Happy First Birthday, Bridget!

Bridget is one year old today! I can hardly believe it...doesn't seem like a whole year ago that I was holding her and she was brand new...time flies. They change so much in the span of that first year. It's a little sad that she is forever leaving her baby days behind her now. But we are looking forward to lots of firsts this next year too and having lots of fun with our girls.

Other big news is that we sold our house on Monday! We had a couple come through Sunday morning and then they came back through Sunday afternoon with their parents. They made an offer on Sunday night and we counter-offered. They accepted our counter-offer on Monday and we signed the purchase agreement on Monday night. Whew, what a whirlwind...We close on May 9th so not very much time! We had to start looking for a place to live while our house is be built. There aren't many apartments that will lease for less than 6 months so the only one we could find was a one bedroom plus den so we will be squeezing into that for the next 4 months while the house is being built. At least it is summer time and the apartment has a pool so I'm sure we'll be out there a lot! Bridget and Lily will be sharing a room at the apartment so we'll see how that goes. We might have to move one of them into our room if they can't settle down and sleep in the same room...It'll be a crazy adventure...like camping for 4 months!! ;-)

So, just trying to get organized and our plan of attack set for packing up the house and deciding what goes to storage, what goes to the apartment. Plus I am traveling on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday this week and the 5, 6, & 7th of May as well. We are going to be pretty exhausted and stressed out by closing day but we'll make it. Think positive, right?

One sad note too, we're going to give up our puppy Lucy this weekend. She is going to go live with my brother in Fargo so my parents are going to take her for a few weeks before he can move into his new place and take her. My allergies have gotten progressively worse and I'm now to the point where I can't really even touch her without immediately washing or showering so that's no fun. I know Alex will take really good care of her and she'll have lots more attention than she gets at our place. Sometimes the attention she gets here is the kids chasing her around so it'll be attention that she will actually like instead. :-) We will miss her too though, she is a good dog.

Little Miss Messy-face...

Bridget is getting to have a few more culinary adventures these days...it is tough to find things without any traces of dairy in them but we're trying a few more things. She tried Baked Beans this week and she was a big fan!! We have her 1-year appt on the 21st of April so she'll have blood drawn to do her allergy tests then. Certain to be a fun experience...I had to do both allergy tests with Lily so I'm inviting Dave along this time so he gets to experience one too. I'm anticipating a milk allergy to show up but hopefully that is it and hopefully it has gotten better than it was. I do notice that I can have a slice of cheese here and there without noticing her in any discomfort. I haven't been brave enough to try milk or sour cream or anything like that yet though, she has always seemed to have more trouble with that type of thing...

It's cold and rainy here today with snow on the way for tonight and tomorrow. Will spring ever be here???? Lily is loving to wear dresses everyday and I'm having to find more tights so I can keep her legs warm at least. If the weather would ever warm up, I wouldn't have to worry about that so much.

No news on the house, a few more showings but no offers yet. We'll just wait and see. I did decide to redo our bedroom and got all new bedding, pillows, and curtains plus repainted the walls. It looks really nice in there now although I'm not totally done with the painting yet. I have a bit of touch up to do and then I was going to do a stripe around the top too. It's kind of a blue-green/silvery turquoise color with a chocolate brown. Dave wasn't crazy about the brown but it does look nice so he begrudgingly agreed to it.

Keep warm everyone!

Driving...

Finally some nice weather! The girls spent several afternoons outside during the last week and it has been really nice to be outdoors for a change. Lily has figured out that she needs to steer when she's driving her car so she's able to drive on her own now. She has to be reminded occasionally to pay attention to the road when she's driving but she does pretty good. I think we'll wait awhile before she gets her license...Bridget loves to ride in the car too and likes to push the button for the music. She screams if Lily stops for too long...
