Soccer Practice

Had Lily's first soccer practice tonight - and she actually did much better than I thought she would with paying attention to the coach and doing what she was supposed to be doing. She got right in there after the ball and didn't do too much wandering off which was good. She picked a couple of dandylions but at least she waited for a break in the action....she has another practice on Saturday and then their first game is the next Tuesday. Should be an entertaining game if nothing else!

I did it!

A quick note on something funny Bridget has started doing. Everytime she works at doing something and finally gets it, she yells 'I did it!' although it comes out more like 'ididit!' as one big word rather than 3 separate ones. Today, she wanted a hairclip with a pink bow off the package so she could wear it - she tried for awhile but couldn't get it so she came to me and asked for help. After I pulled it off, she yelled 'Mommy did it!' - nothing like toddler appreciation to make you feel like you accomplished something today.
It's been warmer here the past few days, in the low 50's so I've been bringing out the sandals for the girls. Bridget loves her new crocs and it's so funny to hear her say 'Crocs'. We went to the shoe store yesterday to look for some white sandals for her 2-year pictures but I couldn't get her to take off her crocs so I could try on the other shoes!

Pre-school conferences

Had Lily's 2nd pre-school conference tonight - her teacher said she is very independent, likes to be active, is a leader in the class and likes to pick friends who are good listeners. It was interesting to hear how her teachers see her and hear about how she behaves in class. There was another little girl who came in after us and Lily went right to her and started talking to her, wanting to be her friend. Must be the Grandma Barb in her coming out!!

Snorkeling

The girls are ready for snorkeling - I got to go to sunny Riveria Maya in Mexico with my friend Leah and we had a wonderful time. I got a chance to try snorkeling and although it takes a bit of getting used to (have to supress that instinct to not try to breathe underwater), it was really fun. I had purchased some snorkel gear so the girls were trying it out too. Lily was ready to go find some water but I told her we might have to wait until it got a bit warmer here.
