Tutus from Grandma

Pictures of the girls in their TuTus that Grandma Sandy made.

Just one more week in the apartment! We close next Friday at 10 am and I am counting down the days now. We're not packed yet but there isn't too much to pack in the apartment. All of our other stuff is at various places so hopefully it won't take all weekend to move in... I stopped at the house today and they had put the carpet in. They still look like they have a ways to go so they are going to be busy this week getting all that done. Lots of little things left to do. Most of the applicances are in place, the cooktop still needs to be installed but the ovens are in and the dishwasher and they look really nice.

I keep asking Lily if she's excited about moving into the new house but she just looks at me funny. I don't think she understands that we're going to live in there. She didn't go inside today with the carpet, maybe when she sees that, it'll look more like a place you could live. She has said that she wants to know when her room is going to be pink, that's the important thing to her...could be awhile before we get around to painting though...

First day of preschool...

Lily had her first day of preschool today - she was so excited!!! I took her to school and walked her to her classroom. She found a 'Little Critter' book right away to read with the teacher. I told her I was going to go and she asked me where I was going. I told her work. She said 'Are you going to come get me when preschool is done?' Yep, I said. Ok, she said. And that was that!!!

I've created a monster...

Here's a video of Bridget when Dora comes on the TV - she likes Dora as much as her big sister. She does a little dance as soon as she sees it come on.

Inez (our daycare lady) was back this week and were we all glad to see her! ;-) It's nice to get back into our regular routine and the girls were really happy to see Inez.

A couple of weeks ago, I let Lily do her first emergency pee-in-the-bushes because she waited to tell me she had to go potty until we couldn't get to a potty anytime quick at the park. She did it another time about a week later. Then, we went to the pool at our apartment Labor Day weekend with Mariclar, Jake and Emma. The pool is outdoors and has a large concrete area and then mulch around the concrete and then a fence. Lily had to go potty and I took her in and she went. Then about 10 mins later, she said she had to go again. I asked her if she really had to go since she had just gone and then she said no. I was sitting on the steps talking with Mariclar and watching Bridget and Emma. Then Jake says 'Lily's peeing." I look back behind me and she's squating in the mulch peeing. I have no idea how she got her swimming suit pulled down - it's hard for me to get down!! So, clearly I have some more work to do to communicate the meaning of a potty emergency...

Lily starts her first day of preschool on Monday. I'm curious to see how everything goes. We went to the open house on Wednesday and she dove right into everything but wasn't particularly interested in talking to her teachers....we'll see.

House is coming along, 3 weeks now until closing day and I am counting down the days...It seems like they still have a lot of stuff to do to be done in 3 weeks. They're staining and finishing all the trim and window casings now. I think they're supposed to start painting and vinyl next week sometime.
